Do you feel that your outdoor space needs to be a bit more exciting?

You may have just bought a new home or maybe you feel like it’s time to brighten up your outdoor space. Either way, there are so many options of what to do with your outdoor living space that it can be difficult to know where to start. To help you get started, here are 5 ways to spice up your outdoor space.

1.  Add a centrepiece

You can add something visually appealing that draws you and your guests in the centre of your yard. This could be a nice patio swing set, a small sculpture, or firepitaround which people may gather. Besides roasting marshmallows in the summer, or toasting your hands on a cold winter’s evening, installing a fire pit can offer just the right amount of fire and warmth you need.

2.  Pots and planters

You can use planters in your outdoor space, especially balconies and a large planter with a highlighter tree like a palm or banana tree sets an area of your balcony in focus. You can also create an oasis by setting multiple plants in one area, with colour coordinated pots.

Stone and ceramic planters, especially those in interesting shapes can be used to add an element of interest in between the plants. Elevate your potted plants also to create dimension and depth to your space. Ladders are a great way to elevate your plants as they are charming and need little or no maintenance.

3.  Decor items

Addition of decor items bring up a bit of your personality to your space, as well as providing more pep to it. The decor choices can be similar to the ones available indoors, like vases, decorative figurines, candles and mirrors. Select elements that match with your theme and outdoor space. You can also add decorative seat cushions to add that pop of colour you need in your outdoor space.  .

4.  Paint your existing outdoor furniture

If your outdoor furniture looks a bit worn around the edges you can repaint it instead of replacing it. A quick touch up around the edges will make your furniture as good as new. Black metallic paint would work well as it makes the furniture sparkle and look brand new again.

5.  Add light and ambience

Adding light brings a beautiful atmosphere to your outdoor space. Lights are perfect for the outdoor space, easy to install and are great for security and turning your space into a cosy one. You can make a selection from fairy lights strung around the plants to lanterns in a variety of shapes and styles.
